Torqes Engineering was founded in 2014 by Nosipho Mhlongo and is 100% black women-owned multi-disciplinary engineering company, focused on engineering projects, maintenance as well as other services to the oil, gas and related industries.
Nosipho realised she needed to improve her business and identified that Seda supported Lepharo Incubation Centre in Ekurhuleni, would support her in taking her business to new heights. In November 2017 she joined the incubation programme where she was provided with business operation premises and other business development support.
Since joining the incubation programme Torqes Engineering was given support such as office space, boardrooms to meet with current and potential clients, access to a computer lab, Wifi and machinery.
The business also received assistance with labour compliance through the health and safety department; as well as assistance with bookkeeping services through a registered financial services provider, and access to market linkage.
The businesses' turnover increased from R2.3million to R10.3million within a year, after receiving continuous support from the Seda-supported Lepharo incubation Centre.
