Honey Nectorous is a close corporation situated at Palm Plaza in Brits in the North West that is involved in honey processing, bottling and packaging. The owner Mr Job Betha started the business is 2007 after working for a honey processing plant for thirteen years.Mr Job Betha initially approached Seda to assist him with a business plan. The main objective of the business plan was to obtain funds to buy stock and the relevant equipment to process the honey; as the business was operating without the necessary equipment.Seda assisted Honey Nectorous to apply for the necessary equipment through the Seda Technology Programme's Technology Transfer Fund.
The company's intentions with the new equipment was to transform their operations and production from manual to modern technology systems.Seda Technology Programme approved to grant Mr Betha an amount of R383 040 towards the purchase of the equipment. This intervention increased their asset base and expectations are there will be an increase in production that will increase the annual turnover. "I really appreciate what Seda has done; now we can process honey professionally" says Mr Betha.
